Truth & Life Ministry – May 18
18 May 2012 | No Comments | posted by MRBC | in MRBC, Truth and Life Ministry
“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Col 3:16)
We are very encouraged to see the Lord at work in our midst. Recently, I taught a series on Sunday evenings about our God-given responsibility to admonish (or counsel) one another. Two of our men have decided to put Col 3:16 into practice. They have made arrangements to meet, this evening, with another man who strayed away from the Lord, and to appeal to him to make things right with God. Please pray that the Lord may grant the desire of these two men’s hearts –to win him back (James 5:19-20).
SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST:
On the Brazilian side of things: Yesterday, we received word from Sobral Bible Church that Nubia, their pastor’s wife, has been diagnosed with acute leukemia (the worst kind). From the way that they described her bleeding in the mouth, Chima is quite certain she does not have much longer to live, unless the Lord sovereignly intervenes. Nubia’s first response was that she was not afraid to die. Her main concern was for her 3 year-old son. I know that Pr. Domingos is much more concerned than her about his ability to carry on the present level of ministry responsibilities without her. He is responsible for two congregations, has a heavy schedule of weekly evangelistic home Bible studies, as well as the directorship of the church’s school. Nubia has been a right and left hand to him, caring for their children, helping Domingos manage his diabetes, hosting, constant flow of believers in their home, as well as assisting him in other church and school-related ministries.
I know that Nubia and Pr. Domingos, as well as the entire church in Sobral would greatly appreciate your prayers for them during this trying time.
Thanks, Jonathan & Chima
